Pavex is seeking qualified individuals to work at its Qaqortoq, Airport Construction Site in Greenland. We are seeking motivated and talented individuals who possess the technical skills required to contribute to our heavy civil project team for the 2024 Construction.
Role: Heavy Equipment Operator Roller
Location: Qaqortoq, Greenland
Position requires knowledge and experience operating Vibratory Drum Rollers in hard rock environments on remote and fast paced work sites.
The successful candidates will work in the field and be responsible to support the Company’s safety, quality and environmental programs, in the execution of the work.
Duties include:
- Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision
- Working with blast rock and maintaining working areas
- Daily pre and post trip inspections
- Daily maintenance such as checking fluids and greasing
- Work safely and efficiently managing material and maintaining production goals
- Safely travelling and setting up at work location
- Adhere to all workplace safety policies, regulations and compliance legislation
- Possess a good work ethic, a positive attitude and the ability to work in a team
The Ideal Applicant for this position will possess the following:
Required Education and Experience
- Heavy Equipment Training and / or Experience with Traction Engine endorsement 08 or International equivalent
- 3+ year operating in hard rock environments in production environments
- Understanding of earthworks operations
- Experience operating vibratory drum roller and compaction techniques
- Able to make good decisions working in fast paced environment working in close proximity to equipment and people
Safety Requirements
- WHMIS, Powerline Hazard Training, First Aid Training would be an asset, OHS Committee Training would be an asset
Work Schedule and Conditions
- Remote Work in Northern Climates
- Working outside
- Accommodations provided at the Site Construction Camp
- Work is scheduled based on a 28 days on / 14 days off rotation schedule with 10 hours per day for 7 days per week
