Pavex is seeking qualified individuals to work at its Qaqortoq, Airport Construction Site in Greenland. We are seeking motivated and talented individuals who possess the technical skills required to contribute to our heavy civil project team for the 2024 Construction Season.


Role: Project manager

Location: Qaqortoq, Greenland


The successful candidates will work in the field and be responsible to support the Company’s safety, quality and environmental programs, in the execution of the work.


Duties include:


A project manager plans, supervises, coordinates, and organizes all operations related to paving (and civil engineering) projects for which they are responsible. More specifically, their responsibilities include:


  • Participating in the estimation and preparation of bids
  • Completing startup, project monitoring, and work acceptance documents
  • Controlling the execution of the work
  • Adhering to technical requirements, allocated budgets, and established timelines for various projects
  • Negotiating with subcontractors, clients, and suppliers
  • Managing work teams by optimizing available resources
  • Participating in the management of the ISO quality plan and workplace health and safety
  • Establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with clients, teams, and other stakeholders
  • Handling invoicing and project closure
  • Performing any other related tasks

The Ideal Applicant for this position will possess the following:

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (or any other relevant discipline) or be a project management technician
  • Have 2 to 3 years of relevant experience (additional experience may compensate for formal education)
  • Demonstrate strong skills in communication, problem-solving, negotiation, and adaptability to change
  • Possess analytical and synthesis abilities, and the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exhibit autonomy, initiative, and leadership qualities
  • Be performance-oriented and cost-conscious
  • Have experience in the paving industry (an asset)
  • Hold a valid driver's license and own a vehicle
  • Possess the General Health and Safety card for construction sites or commit to completing the course

Safety Requirements

  • WHMIS, Powerline Hazard Training, First Aid Training would be an asset, OHS Committee Training would be an asset

  • Remote Work in Northern Climates

  • Accommodations provided at the Site Construction Camp
  • Work is scheduled based on a 28 days on / 14 days off rotation schedule with 10 hours per day for 7 days per week
